Shamel Green, EMDR-C

Mental Health Clinician & In-Home Community Parent Coach

I serve in a dual role as an In-Home/Community Parent Coach and Clinician, supporting individuals and families through compassionate, personalized care. My work focuses on meeting people where they are and creating a supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered as they navigate life’s challenges.

My professional background includes experience in education, perinatal support, and mental health. I previously worked as a school teacher from 2016 to 2019, where I developed a strong foundation in supporting children and families in learning and development. From 2020 to 2025, I worked as a birth doula and perinatal educator, providing emotional, educational, and practical support to families during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. These experiences
continue to shape my understanding of family systems, parenting, and the importance of supportive community care.

My educational background includes studies in sociology, education, and psychology, and I am a certified birth doula who has completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR training has expanded my ability to support clients in processing distressing experiences, strengthening resilience, and fostering healing. This multidisciplinary training informs my holistic approach to working with individuals and families. I believe that
meaningful growth begins with self-understanding, and I support clients in exploring their needs, strengthening their sense of safety, and building supportive environments within themselves and their communities.

My approach is client-centered and adaptable, recognizing that every person and family has unique experiences and strengths. I value compassion, empowerment, safety, and community, and I strive to create spaces where clients feel supported as they develop insight, confidence, and practical tools for growth.
